Peaceful spot in the snow

We only offer one guest room and it has an extensive list of features to make our guests feel relaxed and better than at home. We do have another bedroom and two cots that you can rent if your party needs them. We have well water that is filtered and softened and we have an air filter/purifier on the furnance/airconditioner.

Your stay at The Maples Bed and Breakfast will be in complete comfort. The king sized bed is great for a nap anytime of the day and our guests tell us it is the most comfortable bed that they have ever slept in. Snacks and beverages are provided and there is usually a little ice cream in the freezer.

Spa robes, pool towels and flip flops are waiting for you in the bedroom closet. You provide the bathing suit and you are all set to enjoy the exercise pool, hot tub, pool deck, patio, outside deck or the front porch. Wear only them your entire stay if you want.

As a Bed and Breakfast Pennsylvania law does not allow us to provide any meal other than breakfast. Feel free to use the 5.0 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer, microwave or outdoor gas grill to prepare other meals for yourself. We have many wonderful restaurants nearby. We can make a reservation for you if you wish. There are also great pizza and sub shops and a neat country store with a hot dog grill in it where hot dogs are two for $1. We have a full service grocery store as well as several convenience stores.

A portable hairdryer is provided for you also.

Facility Features

There is a float for the pool and various small floation items to use in pool or you may bring your own and after inspection probably use them as well.

There is a 27" flatscreen TV/DVD with Direct TV & Radio satellite service and a few DVDs, a portable CD/Radio and a small video player with a few videos provided for your use. Please remember that The Maples if a family atmosphere Bed and Breakfast. Family appropriate behavior is expected in all public areas. Family members may use the pool during your stay but will try to use it at a time when you are not.

For your relaxation there is not a telephone in your room but you may use the family telephone for arrival and departure calls. There is not cell phone service in most of this area. But you can drive up the hill to the top - about a minute drive and you have service - at least for Verizon. The view of the surrounding mountains is wonderful from that spot also.

Outdoor Comfort

You will find chaise lounges inside and outside to lay on, a porch swing with a canopy, rocking chairs and other cushioned chairs to sit in scattered in and out of the house. There is a table and chairs in the pool room as well as other chairs. Out on the patio there is a table with an umbrella and cushioned chairs as well as candles for the umbrella so that you may enjoy an evening under the stars with fewer bugs as well as daytime protection from the sun.

The Pool Room has sliding doors on three sides of it and 6 roof panels that can be opened so that you feel like you are outside. There are screens on all doors and windows in an attempt to keep most bugs and falling leaves in the fall outside. There is a heater to keep the room warm to enjoy year round. You request the temperature for the water in the pool and hot tub and the air temperature. The pool water is always above 90. If you are going to be doing a lot of exercise in the water - like swimming against the current - it does not have to be heated to that degree.

You may enjoy breakfast At the table in your room, out in the pool room or out on the patio - you choose where you want to enjoy your breakfast. You can shut the draperies on the bedroom door to shut out the sun or rain or snow or have them open to enjoy the same. The birds are singing most mornings and you will likely see a rabbit out nibbling on the grass. Often a deer or turkeys will wander thru the field above the pool room and there is almost always a squirrel or chipmunk to watch in the trees off from the patio year round.
