Our guests from "The Get Out More" Roadcrew

bunked in with us. We received 6 inches of snow that night!

There is a computer port in your room if you want to keep up with the outside world or you can just forget about the rest

along the creek off the patio out your bedroom door.

IF YOU LIKE THE WATER BUT DON'T LIKE DEEP WATER OR ARE AFRAID OF THE WATER BECAUSE
YOU DON'T SWIM THIS IS THE PERFECT POOL FOR YOU! THE MAIN PART OF THE POOL IS ONLY 3 1/2 FEET DEEP. THERE IS A
BENCH IN THAT TO SIT ON IF YOU WISH. THERE ARE STEPS INTO THE POOL INSTEAD OF A LADDER. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THE
POOL WHO ARE AFRAID OF THE WATER THAT REALLY ENJOYED THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY CAN TOUCH THE BOTTOM OR HOLD ONTO THE SIDE
OF THE POOL AND WALK OR FLOAT AROUND.
On August 19th we were having dinner on the patio by the pool and two red-headed
woodpeckers flew by and perched on trees at the edge of the woods so that we could see them. Our guests saw deer running in
the field across from the pool on Thursday & took pictures of a bear in a field near Westfield a few
hours later. On Saturday, August 20th, they took pictures of the Bald Eagle at the Tioga/Hammond Lake stop on the Tioga
Central Railroad. What fun.Others were on the wagon ride at the canyon when bald eagles were spotted and then when they
stopped at the Muck Bird Viewing area (by the Tioga Railroad station) in 45 minutes they saw a Belted King Fish, Purple Finch,
Golden Eagle, Turtle, Baldplate Duck, Broadwinged Hawks and a ribbon snake.
On October 10th at 8:13am 4 giant turkeys wandered across the lawn - about 25 feet from
where our guests were enjoying their breakfast in the pool room. The day before they had hiked the Turkey Path on the Colton
Point Park side of the Grand Canyon down to Pine Creek. Near the creek there was an old tree with 3 holes in it and
whiskers that appeared to be bear whiskers stuck around the openings!
Memorial Day Weekend 2006 I was driving home thru the Marsh and had to stop
for a Bobcat! It must have come down to the Marsh for a drink. How cool. I had never seen one in the wilds before. We rode
the train ride out along the lake last week and they now point out where the Bald Eagles have a nest!
While I was in the pool at 8am on July 17th three hen turkeys came up out of the gully
for a little visit. I saw them in the back field one day last week. My brother says they have a bunch of chicks but
I haven't seen them - just the momma's.
