Whether you're an outdoor adventurer or just want to get away from it
all, no matter what the season is the area surrounding Applewood Cottage
offers over 6600 acres to lose yourself in. From bird watching to swimming
there's something for everyone!
OPEN ALL YEAR to accomodate your busy schedule, Applewood Cottage is nestled
in the "heart" of Cook Forest, 1 mile from the banks of the Clarion
River and minutes away from year around activities.
Moderately priced, Applewood is a fully furnished, spacious cottage that
sleeps up to 6 people, has a full kitchen, hot and cold running water, full
bath, an indoor fireplace and outdoor fire ring.
A tank full of gas will get you here. Beautiful scenery, fresh air and country
atmosphere will keep you returning year after year.
Come spend time with us, the area will give you a lifetime
of memories.

DIRECTIONS:
FROM THE NORTH (Erie):
Route 19 South to Route 97 (Union City). Route 97 To Route 8 (Titusville).
Pick up Route 36 South outside of Titusville. Travel Route 36 through Tionesta
and Leeper until Cooksburg. At the Cooksburg bridge make a left onto River
Road. At the stop sign make a left turn onto Cemetery road. Applewood Cottage
is approximately 1 mile up the hill on right hand side.
FROM THE SOUTH (Pittsburgh): 2 routes listed
1. Route 28 North to Brookville. Pick up Route 36 North and travel it to
Cooksburg. Cross the Cooksburg Bridge and make the immediate right onto
River Road. At the stop sign make a left hand turn onto Cemetery Road. Applewood
is approximately 1 mile up the hill on the right hand side.
2. I-79 North to I-80 East. Travel I-80 East until exit 8 (Shippenville)
Pick up Route 66 North to Leeper. Make a right at the blinking light in
Leeper onto Route 36 South and follow until Cooksburg. At the Cooksburg
Bridge make a left onto River Road. At the stop sign make a left onto Cemetery
Road. Applewood is approximately 1 mile up the hill on the right hand side.
FROM THE EAST (Philadelphia) :
I-80 West to Exit 13 (Brookville). Follow Route 36 North to Cooksburg. Cross
the Cooksburg Bridge and make the immediate right onto River Road. At the
stop sign make a left hand turn onto Cemetery Road. Applewood is approximately
1 mile up the hill on the right hand side.
FROM THE WEST (Ohio):
I-80 East to Exit 8 (Shippenville). Follow Route 66 North to Leeper. Make
a right at the blinking light in Leeper onto Route 36 South and follow until
Cooksburg. At the Cooksburg Bridge make a left onto River Road. At the stop
sign make a left onto Cemetery Road. Applewood is approximately 1 mile up
the hill on the right hand side.

ACTIVITIES:
Seasonal Activities abound!!
During the warm weather months the Clarion River offers to its visitors:
canoeing, kayaking and innertubing. Trout and bass fishing is also popular.
A fishing pond is available for children under 12 and handicapped persons.
For the more adventurous individual(s) there is: horseback riding, go-carting,
watersliding, bumperboats, mini-golf and over 27 miles of hiking trails.
If staying on solid ground is more your style, how about a picnic in the
park or an afternoon spent browsing through the many gift shops in the area?
Nearby are several large golf courses. The Park offers many programs exploring
nature. 2 large playgrounds will keep children entertained for hours. In
the evenings the Sawmill Theater offers many performances showcasing local
talent in it's open air theater.
As Fall approaches, wind your way through mother nature's abundance of changing
beauty. Spectacular autumn beauty is visible all over. Nearby, the town
of Clarion is known for its "Autumn Leaf Festival" a week long
festival drawing crowds from all over the world.
Hunting is another popular outdoor sport in the fall. Sportsmen can hunt
squirrel, turkey, deer and bear in designated areas.
Wintertime activities won't leave you hibernating! Ice skating, cross country
skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling will have you out and about. Don't forget
the hot cocoa as you warm yourself around the fireplace!

RATES
RATES
Applewood rates are based on 2 adults and 2 children. There is a charge
of $5.00 per person per night for addtional persons.
$125.00 per night
$200.00 per weekend (Friday-Sunday)
$500.00 per week (Sunday-Sunday)
Mid week reservations are accepted when available
At time of reservation a non-refundable deposit of 50% (in form of cash
or check) is expected within 5 days to hold your date(s). Balance is due
upon check-in. Sorry, we do not accept credit cards.
Check in time is 3:00 p.m., unless other arrangements have been made.
Check out time is no later than 12:00 p.m.(noon), the day of your departure.
A brochure is available and can be mailed to you upon request.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bedding and blankets are provided. One blanket per bed.
Toiletries, food, television and radios are not provided.
For their safety, we ask that parents be responsible for their children
at all times.
Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Cutting of trees is NOT permitted. Firewood is provided and additional wood
can be purchased.
For insurance and health purposes, smoking is NOT permitted inside.
Kitchen appliances and utensils are provided.
Sorry, we do not allow pets.
Cottage owners are NOT responsible for loss or damage due to theft or any
other cause nor accident or injury to persons on their property.
