Rev. J. Stephen Fair, O.C.C. Our Pastor is the Rev. J. Stephen Fair. Pastor Stephen , a native of Baltimore, Maryland, was ordained as a pastor in the United Church of Christ on May 31, 1981. He is a graduate of Towson University in Baltimore, MD and Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster, PA. Pastor Stephen has served churches in Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Illinois. In 1987, Pastor Stephen was received as a Novice in the Order of Corpus Christi. He took his final vows as a Brother on June 2, 1988. Currently, he holds the office of Dean of the Chapter of St. John. Pastor Stephen married the former Kathryn Elizabeth Barrans on June 21, 1980. Kathy and Stephen met at Towson University where Kathy graduated with a degree in Music Education. She also holds a Master of Music Education from Illinois State University and is a certified music teacher. Kathy and Pastor Stephen have three children; Michael, born October 30, 1983, Jennifer, born May 10, 1987, and Christopher, born January 29, 1989. Michael is a junior at Monmouth College, majoring in Secondary Education/History. Jennifer is junior in high school, and is a Youth Delegate at Large of the United Church of Christ Executive Council (the "consistory" for the whole of the denomination). Christopher is a student at Ridgway Middle/High School. |
