About the Workshop

The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop (CPDW) is located at 101 South Fraser Street in downtown State College, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1969 by LaRue Allen, the Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop continues to provide the highest caliber dance training to our students in a broad range of classes. We are delighted to maintain a tradition of more than 30 years of bringing quality dance instruction to the Centre Region.

The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop operates on a semester system, offering a 14-week Fall semester beginning after Labor Day, and a 14-week Spring semester, which begins in January. During May and early June, there is a 5-week intersession, which allows students to explore other dance styles in addition to their customary classes. In the past we have offered such special classes as Aerobics for Dancers, Children's Aerobics, Belly Dancing, Scottish Highland Dancing, Folk Dance, and Partnering. Following the Intersession, CPDW offers a 6-week Summer semester.
