CPDW Snow Cancellation Policy

We will make every attempt to inform our students if we must cancel our classes due to inclement weather, including here on the home page of our website, on our Central PA Dance Workshop facebook page, on our answering machine, and on Channel 4.

That said, though, CPDW rarely cancels classes. We encourage you to attend if you feel safe and comfortable doing so. Otherwise you are welcome to make up your absence in the class of your choice during the current semester. Please use caution and your best judgment - Phil says Spring is just around the corner...

About the Workshop

The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop (CPDW) is located at 101 South Fraser Street in downtown State College, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1969 by LaRue Allen, the Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop continues to provide the highest caliber dance training to our students in a broad range of classes. We are delighted to maintain a tradition of more than 40 years of bringing quality dance instruction to the Centre Region.

The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop operates on a semester system, offering a 14-week Fall semester beginning after Labor Day, and a 14-week Spring semester, which begins in January. During May and early June, there is a 5-week intersession, which allows students to explore other dance styles in addition to their customary classes. In the past we have offered such special classes as Aerobics for Dancers, Children's Aerobics, Belly Dancing, Scottish Highland Dancing, Folk Dance, and Partnering. Following the Intersession, CPDW offers a 6-week Summer semester.

The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop Mission:

	To provide a cultural and creative experience for children and adults through the study of dance.
	To teach dance technique with intelligence, providing the serious student with the basis for a professional career.
	To increase physical awareness, strength, and grace in the non-professional dancer.
	To promote community interest in dance and encourage the growth of an informed audience.
