The Greater Punxsutawney Area Machinery show is returning for it's third year. The show started as a spin-off of the popular Punxsutawney Sesquicentenial Machinery and Auto Exhibition of 2000. Due to the large turnout last year, for the 2002 show, the grounds are being changed. The show will still be at Cook's Five Points Garage, but tractor pull area and the exhibition field will be an all new larger field.

Show includes:

  • Blacksmith demonstrations:Bill Lepley, of Cloe Fabricating Co., will host the Blacksmith Get-together. For more information call (814) 938-5770

  • Steam equipment: Steam equipment is welcome. Sponsored by Punxsutawney Boiler Works, Dennis Heitzenrater. For information call (814) 938-6720

  • Heavy Equipment and Truck Display: we are looking for old trucks, bulldozers etc.. This event sponsored by Five Points Garage. For more information contact Carl Cook at (814) 938-8690. Trophies given Sunday 4PM

  • Antique cars and trucks: 1970 and before. The older the better! Trophies given Saturday 4PM.

  • Tractor pull: again this year, we will be having an Antique Tractor Pull. There will probably also be a Farm Tractor pull this year in addition to the Antique pull. This will be held Sunday August 25th. -- Registration is at 9:00AM and Pull starts at 10:00AM. tractor pull Catagories will be:

  • Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull: Saturday and Sunday at 1:00PM. Ages 3-10 For the Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull contact Dave Daugherty at (814) 427-2858

  • Chicken Bar-B-Que : by the Perry Township Fire Company. They will also provide the Public Address System and Water for the Steam and Engine displays.
  • Flea Market
  • Food Concession: electric available
  • Local Farm Market:

    Cook's Antiques at 5 Points Garage. RD.#4 Punxsutawney.
    From Punxsutawney, drive Rt.36 north to Rt.536. Turn left and drive approximately 5 miles through the town of Frostburg. About 2 miles past Frostburg, turn left towards Hamilton. Approximately two miles down the road to Hamilton, Cook's Five Point Garage is on the left. There will be plenty of signs marking the event.
