Welcome to my Web Page. Mom calls me a Norwegian Forest Cat, but Dad says that
I am just an ordinary calico cat. I know that's not true - I'm not ordinary!
I came to live here when I was a kitten. One day I was under a tree in the
woods when a huge black beast found me. It stood over me for a long, long time
making horrible noises. I was afraid to run, but I am very brave and I arched my back and hissed as loud
as I could. Later I learned that the monster is something called a "Border Collie" and her name is Meg. She's
not as big now but she still makes me nervous.
An even bigger scary thing came to see what Meg had found but it went away.
When it came back, Meg was still there but I had outwitted Meg and escaped! Meg said I was up in a tree, but Mom (she
was the other thing) couldn't see me so they went home.
Whe Mom wen to the mailbox in the afternoon, she must have felt guilty because she
brought some cat food and a towel. Meg found me again, under the same tree, and Mom caught me by wrapping me in a towel.
She thought I was tame because I purred but that was just because I was so scared.
I was very still all the way to the house but as soon as she let me go, I hid. When
Dad came home, he said I couldn't stay inside and he put me in an old dirty shed. I hid so well there that Mom couldn't
find me, but Meg did! When Dad came home, Mom made him get me and bring me inside because she said I would die out there.
At first they shut me in a little room. Even though I was very afraid, I
was hungry and the food tasted good - better than bugs! (I still eat a bug once in awhile.)
When Dad let me out of the little room, I hid under a big thing called a wardrobe
and only came out when no one was watching. Mom's computer was beside it and she is there a lot. For a long time,
I would hide if she looked at me, but after awhile I let her hold my head while I took a nap in her lap. Lots of
things still frightened me though, and I would run back under the wardrobe if Dad sneezed or slammed the door.
All that was a really long time ago and now I run the house. Mom says I'm
Meg's cat but I know better. I like fishy cookies, climbing trees, watching for chipmunks and
making Mom let me in and out of the house. Once when I was little, I found a snake and brought it in the house.
Nobody liked that very much.
Mom says I'm really lucky that Meg likes cats because she kills groundhogs. I think
Mom's lucky that I decided to let her stay with me.
Here's me, some of my family and some other stuff (it's really mine, but I let
Mom use some of it.)
